Matthew 9:11

Καὶ ἰδόντες οἱ Φαρισαῖοι εἶπον τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ· διὰ τί μετὰ τῶν τελωνῶν καὶ ἁμαρτωλῶν ἐσθίει ὁ διδάσκαλος ὑμῶν;

And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, “Why is your teacher eating with tax collectors and sinners?

Matthew 9:10

Καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτοῦ ἀνακειμένου ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ, καὶ ἰδού, πολλοὶ τελῶναι καὶ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἐλθόντες, συνανέκειντο τῷ Ἰησοῦ καὶ τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ.

And it came to pass, as he was reclining (at the dining table) in the house, then behold, many tax collectors and sinners came, sat down with Jesus and his disciples.

Matthew 9:9

Καὶ παράγων ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐκεῖθεν, εἶδεν ἄνθρωπον καθήμενον ἐπὶ τὸ τελώνιον, Ματθαῖον λεγόμενον· καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· Ἀκολούθει μοι. Kαὶ ἀναστὰς, ἠκολούθησεν αὐτῷ.

And as Iesus passed by from thence, he saw a man, called Matthew, sitting at the tax collector’s booth, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed him.

Matthew 9:8

Ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ ὄχλοι ἐθαύμασαν καὶ ἐδόξασαν τὸν Θεὸν τὸν δόντα ἐξουσίαν τοιαύτην τοῖς ἀνθρώποις.

But when the crowds saw it, they were marveled, and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men.

Καὶ ἐγερθεὶς ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ

And he arose and went back to his house.

Matthew 9:6

Ἵνα δὲ εἰδῆτε ὅτι ἐξουσίαν ἔχει ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἀφιέναι ἁμαρτίας· τότε λέγει τῷ παραλυτικῷ Ἐγερθεὶς ἆρόν σου τὴν κλίνην, καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου.

But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. Then he said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go back to your house.”

Matthew 9:5

Τί γάρ ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον, εἰπεῖν· Ἀφέωνταί σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι· ἢ εἰπεῖν· Ἔγειρε καὶ περιπάτει;

For which is easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?

Matthew 9:4

Καὶ ἰδὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὰς ἐνθυμήσεις αὐτῶν, εἶπεν· Ἵνα τί ὑμεῖς ἐνθυμεῖσθε πονηρὰ ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν;

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?”

Matthew 9:3

Kαὶ ἰδού τινες τῶν Γραμματέων εἶπον ἐν ἑαυτοῖς· Οὗτος βλασφημεῖ.

And, behold, some of the Scribes said to themselves, “This fellow blasphemes.”

Matthew 9:2

Καὶ ἰδού προσέφερον αὐτῷ παραλυτικὸν ἐπὶ κλίνης βεβλημένον· καὶ ἰδὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὴν πίστιν αὐτῶν, εἶπε τῷ παραλυτικῷ· Θάρσει τέκνον, ἀφέωνταί σοί αἱ ἁμαρτίαι σου.

And behold, they brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed, and Jesus seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Be courageous, son, your sins are forgiven you.”
