Καὶ ἐμβὰς εἰς τὸ πλοῖον διεπέρασε καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς τὴν ἰδίαν πόλιν.

And he entered into a boat, he crossed over, and came to his own city.

Kαὶ ἰδού πᾶσα ἡ πόλις ἐξῆλθεν εἰς συνάντησιν τῷ Ἰησοῦ· καὶ ἰδόντες αὐτὸν, παρεκάλεσαν ὅπως μεταβῇ ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων αὐτῶν.

And behold, the whole city came out to meet Iesus, and when they saw him, they begged him to leave their region.

Οἱ δὲ βόσκοντες ἔφυγον καὶ ἀπελθόντες εἰς τὴν πόλιν ἀπήγγειλαν πάντα καὶ τὰ τῶν δαιμονιζομένων.

And the herdsmen fled, and went into the city, reported everything, and what had happened to the demoniacs.

Καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ὑπάγετε. Οἱ δὲ ἐξελθόντες ἀπῆλθον εἰς τὴν ἀγέλην τῶν χοίρων· καὶ ἰδού ὥρμησε πᾶσα ἡ ἀγέλη τῶν χοίρων κατὰ τοῦ κρημνοῦ εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν· καὶ ἀπέθανον ἐν τοῖς ὕδασιν.

And he said to them, “Go.” And when they came out, they went into the herd of pigs, and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the waters.

Oἱ δὲ δαίμονες παρεκάλουν αὐτὸν, λέγοντες· Εἰ ἐκβάλλεις ἡμᾶς, ἐπίτρεψον ἡμῖν ἀπελθεῖν εἰς τὴν ἀγέλην τῶν χοίρων.

And the demons were begging him, saying, “If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs.”

Ἦν δὲ μακρὰν ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ἀγέλη χοίρων πολλῶν βοσκομένη·

And at some distance from them, there was a herd of many pigs feeding.

Kαὶ ἰδού ἔκραξαν, λέγοντες· Τί ἡμῖν καὶ σοί, Ἰησοῦ υἱὲ τοῦ Θεοῦ; ἠλθες ὧδε πρὸ καιροῦ βασανίσαι ἡμᾶς;

And behold, they cried out, saying, “What do we have to do with you, Iesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”

Καὶ ἐλθόντι αὐτῷ εἰς τὸ πέραν εἰς τὴν χώραν τῶν Γεργεσηνῶν ὑπήντησαν αὐτῷ δύο δαιμονιζόμενοι ἐκ τῶν μνημείων ἐξερχόμενοι, χαλεποὶ λίαν ὥστε μὴ ἰσχύειν τινὰ παρελθεῖν διὰ τῆς ὁδοῦ ἐκείνης.

And when he came to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, two demoniacs met him, coming out of the tombs, so ill-tempered that no one could pass by that way.

Oἱ δὲ ἄνθρωποι ἐθαύμασαν, λέγοντες· Ποταπός ἐστιν οὗτος, ὅτι καὶ οἱ ἄνεμοι καὶ ἡ θάλασσα ὑπακούουσιν αὐτῷ;

But the men were amazed, saying, “Who is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?”

Kαὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· Τί δειλοί ἐστε, ὀλιγόπιστοι; Τότε ἐγερθεὶς ἐπετίμησε τοῖς ἀνέμοις καὶ τῇ θαλάσσῃ· καὶ ἐγένετο γαλήνη μεγάλη.

And he said to them, “Why are you fearful, you of little faith?” Then he arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
