Καὶ ἐὰν ἰχθὺν αἰτήσῃ, μὴ ὄφιν ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ;
And if he asks for a fish, will he give him a snake?
Gospel According To Matthew
And if he asks for a fish, will he give him a snake?
Or what man is there among you, who if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not cast your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them under their feet, then turn and rend you.
You hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to cast out the beam out of your brother’s eye.
Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me cast out the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, a beam is in your own eye?
And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but consider not the beam that is in your own eye?
For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged and with what measure you measure, it will be measured to you.
Do not judge so that you will not be judged.
