Τοῦ δὲ Ἰησοῦ γεννηθέντος ἐν Βηθλέεμ τῆς Ἰουδαίας ἐν ἡμέραις Ἡρῴδου τοῦ βασιλέως, ἰδοὺ μάγοι ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν παρεγένοντο εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα

Now after Iesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem,

Καὶ οὐκ ἐγίνωσκεν αὐτὴν, ἕως οὗ ἔτεκε τὸν υἱὸν αὐτῆς τὸν πρωτότοκον· καὶ ἐκάλεσε τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἰησοῦν.

And he knew her not until she gave birth to her firstborn son; and he called his name Jesus.

Luke 2:21

Καὶ ὅτε ἐπλήσθησαν ἡμέραι ὀκτὼ τοῦ περιτεμεῖν αὐτόν, καὶ ἐκλήθη τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἰησοῦς, τὸ κληθὲν ὑπὸ τοῦ ἀγγέλου πρὸ τοῦ συλληφθῆναι αὐτόν ἐν τῇ κοιλίᾳ.

Διεγερθεὶς δὲ Ἰωσὴφ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕπνου, ἐποίησεν ὡς προσέταξεν αὐτῷ ὁ ἄγγελος Kυρίου· καὶ παρέλαβε τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ·

And Ioseph awoke from his sleep and he did as the angel of the LORD commanded him, and he took his wife.

ἰδοὺ ἡ παρθένος ἐν γαστρὶ ἕξει καὶ τέξεται υἱόν· καὶ καλέσουσι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἐμμανουήλ· ὅ ἐστι μεθερμηνευόμενον μεθ’ ἡμῶν ὁ Θεός.

“Behold, the virgin will become pregnant, and will give birth to a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel,” which being interpreted means God with us.

Tοῦτο δὲ ὅλον γέγονεν, ἵνα πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν ὑπὸ τοῦ Kυρίου διὰ τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος·

Now all this happened to fulfill what was spoken by the LORD through the prophet, saying,

Tέξεται δὲ υἱὸν καὶ καλέσεις τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἰησοῦν· αὐτὸς γὰρ σώσει τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν.

And she will bear a Son, and you shall call His name Iesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.

Tαῦτα δὲ αὐτοῦ ἐνθυμηθέντος ἰδοὺ ἄγγελος Kυρίου κατ’ ὄναρ ἐφάνη αὐτῷ λέγων· Ἰωσὴφ υἱὸς Δαυὶδ, μὴ φοβηθῇς παραλαβεῖν Μαρίαμ τὴν γυναῖκα σου· τὸ γὰρ ἐν αὐτῇ γεννηθὲν ἐκ πνεύματος ἐστιν ἁγίου.

But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the LORD appeared to him in a dream, saying, Ioseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mariam as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

Ἰωσὴφ δὲ ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτῆς, δίκαιος ὢν· καὶ μὴ θέλων αὐτὴν παραδειγματίσαι, ἐβουλήθη λάθρᾳ ἀπολῦσαι αὐτήν.

And Ioseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.

Τοῦ δὲ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ ἡ γέννησις οὕτως ἦν· μνηστευθείσης γὰρ τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ Μαρίας τῷ Ἰωσήφ· πρὶν ἢ συνελθεῖν αὐτοὺς εὑρέθη ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχουσα ἐκ πνεύματος ἁγίου.

Now the birth of Iesus Christ was as follows: when his mother Maria was betrothed to Ioseph, before they had cohabited, she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit.

Πᾶσαι οὖν αἱ γενεαὶ ἀπὸ Ἀβραὰμ ἕως Δαυὶδ γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες· καὶ ἀπὸ Δαυὶδ ἕως τῆς μετοικεσίας Βαβυλῶνος γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες· καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς μετοικεσίας Βαβυλῶνος ἕως τοῦ Χριστοῦ γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες.

So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, and from David until the captivity in Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the captivity in Babylon until the Christ are fourteen generations.
